The secret to these amazing fried strawberry shortcakes are a can of biscuits. Homemade biscuits would be amazing, but who has time of that. Pre-made biscuit dough just makes life easier and they actually taste pretty good considering they come from a can. Plus, they taste even better fried topped with strawberries and whipped cream.
In a skillet or pan, heat your oil to 350 degrees and fry each biscuit on both sides till golden brown. Once cool, place biscuits on a serving plate and spoon on strawberries with the juices, top with whipped cream and more strawberries, then dust with powdered sugar. That's it!
Fried Strawberry Shortcakes
This isn't your basic strawberry shortcake. Fried biscuits topped with macerated strawberries and whipped cream make for a sinful dessert. It's much easy easier than it looks.

What You'll Need For This Recipe?
- Macerated Strawberries Recipe
- Can of Buttermilk Biscuits
- Whipped Cream (fresh or canned)
- Powdered Sugar
How To Make Fried Strawberry Shortcakes?
Its super important to split each biscuit dough in half otherwise they won't cook fully before burning. The biscuits are full of layers. Find a middle layer and gently pull apart into two pieces then reshape into a circle the best as you can.
You can serve these one of two ways (pics above). The first way is to place two biscuits sided by side, then add the strawberries and whipped cream on top of both biscuits.
The second way is more traditional. Place one biscuit on the serving plate and top with the fruit and whipped cream, then place the second biscuit on top or to the side.
I prefer the first one as it allows the juices to soak into both of the biscuits making every bite is heaven. Either way, you'll end up scraping the plate so it really doesn't matter.
Tips On How To Make This Recipe:
- Split each biscuit in two by finding a middle layer in the biscuit and gently pull it apart.
- I've used the buttermilk biscuits and and the flaky layers biscuits. The buttermilk biscuits turned out the best.

This recipe is for strawberries, however many other fruits will work great too. Try blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, peaches, apples or oranges. I love Grand Marnier but wines and other liquors, balsamic vinegar or fruit juices are good additions. Just avoid water. Use something with some flavor.
Easy Macerated Strawberries
This is my go to macerated strawberries recipe. This base works well with any fruit and makes a great topping on vanilla ice cream or slice of cake.

Macerating fruit may sound like a difficult technique but it's super easy make. It only takes some fruit, a little liquid and sugar.
What You'll Need For This Recipe:
- Strawberries
- Grand Marnier or Orange Juice
- Sugar
- Orange Zest
What is Macerating and Why You Should?
Macerating is simply soaking fruit usually in a small about of liquid and sugar. Sometimes other flavors added like herbs, spices, extracts and zests. As the fruit sits, it infuses the flavors added in but also the fruit itself will produce its own juices that create a beautiful syrup.
It takes about 30 minutes to an hour to see the juices form and you can use it at this point, but that isn't enough time for the fruit to infuse all those flavors you worked so hard to put in. I like to let them soak for about 12 hours or overnight. This way you get the best flavors from the juice and the fruit.
How to use Macerated Fruit?
Drizzle some of the juices and fruit on top of some ice cream or yogurt for a parfait. Use it as a topping on a slice of dense buttery pound cake or make my fried strawberry shortcakes. Tips On How To Make This Recipe
- Use fresh firm strawberries. This ensures they will not turn mushy.
- Make a liquor free version by using orange juice.
- Many different types of fruit will work great with this recipe. Try replacing or adding in blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, peaches or cherries.

I love sugar cookies. They are my absolute favorite of all cookies. Some may consider sugar cookies to be quite boring but I believe there simplicity is what makes them so delicious. Sugar cookies are often the base of many popular cookies. For example, take the chocolate chips out of chocolate chip cookies and you have a sugar cookie. And snickerdoodles are sugar cookies rolled in cinnamon sugar. See my point. Enough with the rant. Lets get to this recipe.

Malted Brown Sugar Cookies
These malted brown sugar cookies are perfectly crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside and full malted milky goodness. You're a fan malted milk and sugar cookies you're going to love these!

- White Sugar

What Is Malted Milk?
Malted milk is what makes these beauties stand out from the basic sugar cookie. Often used in milkshakes, malted milk powder is combination of barley malt, wheat flour, milk powder, salt and sometimes sugar. My favorite brand and the one most easily found in the U.S. is this one by Nestle. For this recipe be sure to use malted milk and not a malted milk beverage mix like Ovaltine. Ovaltine includes ingredients that won't work for this recipe. Tips On How To Make This Recipe
- Be sure to use malted milk powder and a malted milk drink mix like Ovaltine.
- Bake for 10 mins for crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside cookies. Bake for 2-5 minutes more for a crunchy cookie.
- To make ahead: Scoop dough into balls and chill in the fridge for about an hour then place dough into ziplock bag and freeze for up to 3 months.
- No need to chill the dough. just scoop and bake!

sandwich cookies

It's cake, it's a cookie... it's a whoopie pie. I know that was super corny but I had to because what is a whoopee pie anyway. Basically it's a cake in the form of a cookie with cream filling in the middle. And for national peanut butter and jelly day I figured a sandwich was of obvious choice, but I wouldn't be me if I didn't make it bougie.

How To Make Peanut Butter & Jelly Whoopie Pies
Before you begin, make sure all of your ingredients are at room temperature and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt.
Cream together the butter and sugar till light and fluffy making sure t0 scrape the sides and the bottom of your bowl. Then add the egg, peanut butter and vanilla. Mix half of the dry ingredients into the sugar/butter mixture then pour in all of the milk and lastly the rest of the dry ingredients. Always scrape the bowl after each addition.
Drop the batter onto the prepared pan using a 1.5 tablespoon cookie/ice cream scoop, keeping them 2 inches a part. Although whoopie pies are cakes but they're baked like a cookie. Usually there's no need to bust out a cake mold. A cookie scoop or a tablespoon will work perfectly. However whoopie pans do exist and are used for batter that much thinner or for more perfectly shaped pies. But they aren't necessary for this recipe.
How To Make Marshmallow Filling

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean and cakes spring back when touched. Allow to cool before filling.

Cream room temperature butter, powdered sugar and salt till light and fluffy. Add in vanilla then fold in the marshmallow fluff and jam or jelly of your choice. Pipe a ring marshmallow filling on half of the cakes then add a dollop of jam/jelly into the center then sandwich with the rest of the cookies.

Tips For Making This Recipe
- If you don't have any buttermilk on hand, mix 1 cup of milk with 2 teaspoons of lemon juice or vinegar and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Allow the marshmallow frosting to set in the fridge for 15 minutes before piping on to cakes.

Banana pudding is a classic southern dessert. Right up there with red velvet and peach cobbler, you'll always find banana pudding on the dessert table in south no matter the occasion. So what better dessert to make into a bite-sized cake form.
I've come a across quite a few banana pudding cupcake recipes but none them seemed quite right so I decided to create my own. I knew I wanted to make the cupcake banana flavor because who doesn't love bananas. This cake is light fluffy and perfectly sweet. Brown sugar help to add a extra depth of flavor that compliments the bananas really well.
French vanilla pudding mix, cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk and whipped cream come to gather to form the luscious, rich and creamy frosting that gets coated in crushed vanilla wafers giving the prefect change in texture.
You have to give the cupcakes a shot even if its just for the banana cake which is delicious on its own. Or dunk vanilla wafer into the pudding mixture. Thats pretty great too!

Tips On How To Make This Recipe
- Make sure the bananas are mashed well. Bigger chunks in batter will cause the cupcakes to raise unevenly.
- Mix the pudding and cream cheese before adding in sweetened condensed milk. Adding the sweetened condensed milk too soon will not allow the blend to combine well.

This blog post is just for the peanut butter lovers. The peanut butter lovers that eat peanut butter by the spoonful. The peanut butter lovers that know they need their veggies so opt for celery instead of a spoon. Those that like it in their salad and pasta. Those that like peanut butter in their whiskey. And lets not forget those OGs, that simply like it between two slice of bread.
Anyway, this recipe is super easy and quick to whip up. The only down side is it does have to chill out in the fridge for 12 hours before you can dive in. However, if you can't wait that long I won't judge. This pie is no bake which means the filling is delicious for dunking Oreos and knocking back a glass of milk.
Really hope you enjoy my fellow peanut butter lovers. Here's to you!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Cream Pie
