Now more than ever immune boosting vitamins and nutrients are on the mind of everyone. And much like everyone else, Ive been interested in getting more fruits and veggies in my diet. Of course simply eating whole fruit and veggies is best option, but sometimes a delicious, refreshing juice just hits the spot.

To make this juice, you will of course need a juicer. There are two main types of juicers. Slow masticating juicers are quite pricey but extract the most nutrients especially from leafy greens. The other is the fast centrifugal force juicer which are quite reasonable however does not always produce the best quality of juice. Which one to buy will depend on how often you plan on juicing and how much you have spend. Is it an every so often thing or a part of your lifestyle?

How To Make Fresh Citrus Juice

First peel the oranges, lemon and grapefruit before adding to the juicer. Use whatever citrus fruits are in season. Now is such a great time to add variety since we are in between seasons. You can still find winter citrus like Mayer lemons and cara cara and blood oranges.

Cut the fruit in small enough pieces for them to fit into your juicer. There is no need to peel any of the other. I like to start with the tumeric and ginger that way the larger pieces of fruit can push out any remains small pieces that got left behind.

Fast juicers allow for more oxidation to take place meaning the juice will seperate. Just give it a couple shakes before serving. This is best if used in 2 days in the fridge but I have kept for up to 4 days just fine but I wouldn't push it.
