Here in Atlanta it's been ridiculously hot and rainy pretty much all summer long. So while I'm waiting for the best season of all aka fall, this peach & honey whiskey smash is the perfect way to cool down while enduring the heat.

I've been learning about cocktails lately. The world of mixology is so overwhelming but so fun and interesting. I'm really drawn to recipes that seam easy to adapt and don't require a lot of ingredients. whiskey smash is definitely one of those easy recipes.

The original is simply lemon, bourbon, simple syrup and mint. But in this version we're adding peaches and honey then topping it off with spicy ginger beer.

What You'll Need For This Recipe?

  • Ripe Yellow or White Peaches
  • Honey
  • Lemon Wedges
  • Mint
  • Whiskey Burbon
  • Ginger Beer

How To Make Peach & Honey Whiskey Smash?

Slice up some ripe white or yellow peaches and it into a mason jar or cocktail shaker along with honey, lemon wedges, and mint. Gently muddle with a muddler or back of spoon. Add your bourbon and ice and shake until chilled. Strain into a rock glass filled with crushed ice. Finish it off with cold ginger beer and garnish with a slice of peaches and mint.

Tips On How To Make This Recipe:

  • If you don't own a muddler, the back of a wooden spoon or French rolling works well as a substitute.
  • Use a good strong bourbon, between 80-90 proof like Maker's Mark or Woodford Reserve.
